From the treatment guide.
Feet take more punishment than hands do, sandals, pool water, sand, constant friction inside shoes, so regular polish on toes tends to chip faster than it does on fingernails. Gel handles all of that better. The treatment itself follows the same steps as a Regular Pedicure, just with gel cured under LED light at the end instead of air-dried polish.
Wear open-toe shoes or sandals for at least an hour after your appointment. Closed shoes put pressure on the polish before the gel is fully cured, which is the most common cause of smudging right after a pedicure.
If you're heading somewhere with a lot of water or sun exposure, this is the more practical choice over regular polish.
